One would be hard pressed to deny that Nintendo’s latest portable system, the 3DS, is currently very low on must-own titles. However, it was initially revealed that tons of publishers had signed up to produce new entries in many of gaming’s biggest current franchises for the handheld.

Nintendo’s conference at the Tokyo Game Show, which just ended moments ago, has made it clear that the future is looking far brighter. Previously known titles were highlighted, but more importantly, many new games were also revealed. Here’s an abridged list of what players should look forward to playing on the little 3D machine:

  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • Luigi’s Mansion 2
  • Paper Mario
  •  Mario Tennis
  • Fire Emblem
  • Bravely Default: Flying Fairy
  • Resident Evil: Revelations
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising
  • Final Fantasy: Theathrythm
  • Mario Kart 7
  • Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai
  • Tekken 3D: Prime Edition
  • Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3
  • Dynasty Warriors VS
  • Monster Hunter 3G
  • Monster Hunter 4

That’s a lot, and only part of what was announced. Oddly enough, the recently revealed second analogue Circle Pad attachment wasn’t even touched upon. The announcement that the next main entry in the Monster Hunter series would be coming to 3DS was quite a surprise though, and is bound to a huge incentive to get the handheld, especially in Japan where the franchise is king.
